Pictures from Anime Mid-Atlantic 2001

These are some of the pictures that I took at the Anime Mid-Atlantic 2001 convention on June 15-17, 2001. This was a first year con, and was thus fairly small, but I really enjoyed myself. I've always enjoyed the smaller conventions because the social atmosphere is more laidback and intimate. On the other hand, the AMV Competition, Dealer's Room, and the like are also smaller, so that is a little bit of a turnoff. Anyway, spent most of the convention volunteering, and most of that was spent helping out with the Cosplay. I was only at the convention for the Saturday, as I was on-call for work that weekend (and was promptly not called Sunday, grr). Oh well, I would have gone home for Father's Day if not for work, so I wouldn't have been there either way.

I only took one roll of film as I was afraid the camera I was using might have a small crack in the lens. Most of these are pictures of the awards for the Cosplay. It's kind of ironic, Tikki had me take Polaroids of all the entrants for Pre-Judging, yet I barely took pictures with my own camera until the Anime Squares started up. Anyway, my photos are posted below along with notes and random thoughts. Just a quick note that each image on these pages is a link to display the JPEG at full size; the border is a little hard to see on some. In the last convention posting, I mentioned an upcoming site revamp. Got a bit sidetracked, but I'm now almost at the point to start merging it in. Hopefully, the Secret of Mana theme will be up by Shoujocon.
